Harvest of Memories bio picture
  • WELCOME!

I am so happy to have you here if this is our first time visiting! For those that don't know me, I started my photography business, Harvest of Memories, in 2009 and never, ever imagined I would be where I am right now, which would be running my business, full-time from my home! I am not your average photographer. I am unique and creative photographer. I am a wife and mother of two precious girls and hit the ground running when I started my business. I have taken photographs for people all over Ohio and gained so many clients just by word of mouth. HOM is not a "pose and shoot" business. I produce inventive, original, timeless photographs to cherish important memories forever. I am currently serving Central Ohio including Columbus, Gahanna, New Albany, Granville, Westerville, and Newark, Ohio.

Blackhand Gorge Engagement Pictures | Wes and Anessa

Blackhand Gorge Engagement Pictures

You know what I love about Anessa?  She not only knows the type of pictures she wants, but will buy the exact same outfit for both her as well as for Wes to achieve the image.  Initially, it was discussed if we could go to Old Man’s Cave.  When asked what she liked about the location, she said the caves and the rocks.  I casually mentioned Blackhand Gorge and the rock walls and the cave on the property that would be easy to walk to it all.  As soon as I mentioned it, she agreed and loved the idea.  The day we met up, it was absolutely gorgeous.  They brought their puppy, Cooper, along for this series of pictures.  I think its great when couples want to include their fur baby in their pictures.  If you wish to view more images from the first part of their session, click here.

Pataskala Ohio Engagement Pictures | Wes and Anessa

Pataskala Ohio Engagement Pictures

The minute the bride-to-be gets permission to use the neighbors barn in Pataskala, Ohio and you can barely stand the wait to start shooting there explains my excitement for this session.  If the barn and the bridge in the backyard isn’t cute enough, Wes and Anessa added a swing to the tree across the street.  As much as I loved the swing, the tree itself caught my attention that from a certain angle, I could almost imagine them in the tree.  I laughed when I asked, “Do you guys have any problems climbing into the tree?”  Why not channel your inner kid and climb a tree right?  Shortly after that adventure, we changed outfits and locations by driving to Inniswood Metro Garden.  To view images from their part 2 session at Blackhand Gorge, click here.

Newark Ohio Weddings | Nick and Alecia

Newark Ohio Weddings

I honestly missed these guys so much after we worked together during their engagement session.  When I leave a session that we had so much fun and easy to pose them, I always get excited for their wedding day.  By looking at these images, the steady rain that came down all day long didn’t bother either of them.  When I looked at the forecast and could see the chance of rain was settling in, I messaged Alecia a few days before the wedding and asked if she was ok with using the Arcade downtown Newark for their pictures.  Her response was, “Oh my gosh, I completely forgot about the Arcade.  Can we go there regardless if it rains?”  I’m always happy when an idea is received so well and I can hear the excitement in the email.  The overhead glass roof always provides the best kind of natural light and it’s my go to place when it’s too cold, too windy, or in this case we had a fair amount of rain coming down.  If the men had any other color for their suit, I would have tried for outdoor images, but the raindrops would have shown up so quickly.  I mentioned that to a wedding couple recently and they said that was a great idea to keep in mind when selecting their suit colors for their wedding.  Just another reason why I like to blog.  I might provide an idea to any couples planning their wedding if they follow my blog.  If you wish to see more images from the Kohl wedding, please click here.

Westerville North Senior Pics | Evan

Westerville North Senior Pics

Thanks to my ambassador program,  I had the honor of meeting up with Evan from Westerville North High School.  The referral came from Brooke Eberts that is currently one of my ambassadors.  His parents both agreed if they didn’t mention anything to Evan about having his pictures taken, he wouldn’t have asked about them.  I offered the idea to consider a mini session that’s 45 minutes long and the chance to select images for download.  You might think 45 minutes isn’t a long time, but when you put yourself in a location like that of Granville, Ohio, near Denison University, it provides multiple backdrops that everybody always likes.  Every time I visit this particular location with the guys, the parents always express how much they love it.  Before I even start taking pictures with the guys, I like to ask the guys the type of smile they prefer as well as the smile Mom prefers.  I like for everybody to hear my game plan, which would be asking that my model will smile for a few images and then smile the way they want to smile, which is normally a smile with showing no teeth.  That way when we meet up in the studio, everybody will have both looks.

LV High School Senior | Dylan

LV High School Senior

What a great evening catching up with the Carr family in the studio.  They have their final LV High School Senior, Dylan, and I’m honored they asked me to take his pictures just like I did for his older brothers.  I remember everything about all of the sessions.  With Devin, his younger brothers, Derek and Dylan, made fun of him while throwing a football back and forth.  By the end of Devin’s session, he said he will return home from college when Derek scheduled his session to do the same thing to him.  With Derek, I will never forget his popping the hip picture in centerfield that I refused to delete and it landed in his album.  When it came time for Dylan, he greeted me with a big hug.  It was so sweet to hear him express he wanted to do the same type of images like his brothers, which speaks to Dylan’s kind character.  Prior to his session, Lisa asked if I could help with a picture they had in mind.  Their family dog was photographed during Derek’s session and unfortunately passed away.  The entire family mourned the loss of their family dog and that Dylan didn’t do well with it all.  Shortly after Poncho passed away, Dylan expressed how he couldn’t have his senior pictures taken with him.  In order to pull this off, the only thing I said to Dylan would be we had an idea in mind and to have faith in it all.  He smiled and said ok while I posed him with nothing in between his arms.  With the combined efforts with posing Dylan the exact same way as Derek and sending both images to my partner in crime, Amanda Estep Photography, we pulled off a pretty special surprise.  Scroll to the bottom to view the before and after image.  It moved the entire family to tears.
